Let's Get Down To Business!

I have been overweight for a very long time. I have had health issues since I was about 20 years old, and I really thought that if I were to just ignore them, then they would just disappear. Sadly, things didn't happen that way, and I have definitely learned my lesson...In order to be healthy, you actually have to want to be healthy...You have to put time into meal planning, cooking, diet, and exercise.

One of my best friends suggested I download this app called "Couch to 5K". It is a free app that helps you condition to begin running. It has each day planned for you, and a very helpful virtual trainer who will tell you when to walk/run. At first, I really liked her...but by the end of the run, I really hate her (in a good way!)

Yesterday was Week 1, Day 1. Here is how the workout went :
1.   Brisk 5 minute walk (warm up)
2.   Alternating 60 seconds of running, with 90 seconds of walking (Total : 20 minutes)
3.   Brisk 5 minute walk (cool down)

I really didn't think that I could do it...I haven't ran that much since probably middle school, and that is VERY hard for me to admit. I really wanted to buckle down, and get something done...Every time I was gasping for air, I told myself "FOCUS". Every time my legs were burning so bad, that I just wanted to sit down, I told myself "PUSH THROUGH IT". I let myself get out of shape, so I need to stay accountable to get myself  back into shape!! :)
