Harry Potter Bar Crawl

This past weekend, I went to a Bar Crawl that was a TON of a fun!! Surrounded by good people, and memories that will definitely last a lifetime!! I'm already really looking forward to next year!

In preparation to the crawl, I visited the Pottermore Website. I wanted to find out what house I belonged to, what my patronus was, as well as my wand! Here's my results:

• House: Slytherin
• Patronus: Ragdoll Cat
• Wand: Silver Lime Wood w/phoenix feature core 12 1/2"
• Ilvermorny House: Thunderbird

So, let's dig into what each of these things mean!! 

• Slytherin House 
• Traits: Cunning, Ambitious, Resourceful, Shrewd, and Determined. 
• Some of the other famous Characters: Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, Horace Slughorn, Bellatrix Lestrange, Dolores Umbridge, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle.  MERLIN
• Patronus: Ragdoll Cat
• I couldn't find too much more information on Pottermore about this, but I did find Muggle Net, and this guide to show you what your patronus said about you. This is what mine says: "Ragdoll Cat – Rag dolls are one of the sweetest cats ever. They are so cuddly and want to be with you all the time. They will follow you around the house, playing gently with your shoestrings, charming everyone with their gentle and sweet personalities. While they may not be the most protective of cats, they will fill you with joy and happiness." - Taken directly from Muggle Net. 
• Silver Lime Wood Wand
• This wand is said to be unusual and highly attractive. It was a popular wand, and demand wiped them out and wand makers would dye other woods in efforts to make it look like it was Silver Lime (omg!). It's said that they performed best for Seers and witches/wizards that are skilled in Legilmency (aka mind reading). 
• Phoenix core is the more rare core type! A phoenix feature is capable of a large range of magic. They show initiative, sometimes act on their own, and are always the most picky when choosing an owner. The wand picks you, remember!? The downside of these incredible cores, is that it likely takes longer to tame and personalize, because their allegiance is hard to win. 
• Ilvermorny House: Thunderbird 
• This was a new one for me! While I knew the main ideals around Slytherin, I wasn't familiar with Ilvermorny! I can't wait to explore this a little bit more. According to Pottermore, this house was named by Chadwick Boot after his favorite magical beast! Thunderbird's favor adventurous people! The house represents the soul. 

The actual bar crawl portion was so much fun! It was a great opportunity to get to see parts of the city that I didn't know were there! There was something to explore for everyone! There were little dives, and then larger bars to choose from. All within walking distance of each other, and all offering their own twists on themed drinks for the event!! Some of my favorites were: Wobbly Weasly, Death Water, Polyjuice Potion, Unicorn Blood, and of course Butterbeer. 

When you checked in, you got to pick your house cup, pick a wand, and you got your letter from Hogwarts!  Bottom line, it was a ton of fun and I really can't wait until next year!! :)
